Waste dumped in lagoon, fisher village south of Kuluedor, Ghana

The fisher have cut all mangrove trees in the lagoon, only stumps remain. The ecological balance of the lagoon has been destroyed. Plastic waste that had been caught in the fishers nets. After separating the tiny fish from the waste the plastic was dumped at a lagoon behind the beach. The plastic waste is an unwanted by catch because the sea is polluted with plastic waste from the nearby city of Accra that 20 percent of what the fishers catch is waste floating in the ocean.
