Syringodendron is a botanical name specifying a pattern of leaf scars on the lower stem surface of Sagillaria trees. The stems often seem to have lost their outer layer with the leaf scars before fossilisation. The Syringodendron patterns are most probably related to the veins running from the inner stem to the leaves.
