Thetis brings Achilles armor that she had Hephaestus (Vulcan), the god of fire, fashion for him for him to fight in Trojan War.

In Greek mythology, Achilles is the hero of the Iliad, a Greek epic attributed to the bard Homer. The son of Peleus and Thetis, he was the major Greek hero of the Trojan War, killing the Trojan prince Hector in a one-on-one combat. In this late 1800s illustration, Thetis is shown bringing Achilles armor that she has had Hephaestus (Vulcan), the god of fire, fashion for him for him to fight in the Trojan War after Achilles' comrade Patroclus wore Achilles' armor into battle and was killed, losing the armor.
