Freeze-dried seeds. The phials contain seeds from the plant Sisymbrium supinum, which is native to north-western Europe and under threat of extinction. Freeze drying, or lyophilisation, preserves the seeds by dehydrating them. These seeds are now being stored in a refrigerated room until they are needed.
