The image shows an important road used for transporting allied supplies to the front lines during World War I. The road, located near the Marne, is cleverly disguised to be hidden from enemy airmen. This camouflage technique was used to prevent German observers from spotting and targeting the supply route. Officially documented as "111-SC-5858", it was taken in 1919 by a photographer named E. The image is marked with a symbol that appears to be "EU".
