Prince Rupert, Duke of Bavaria aka Prince Rupert of the Rhine who's mother was Charles I's sister Elizabeth. He became a soldier and fought in the Thirty Years War, then in 1642, joined Charles I's army in the English Civil War in which he was to lead the royalist cavalry in the first major battle of the war at Edgehill in October 1642.
