A view of the tangle of wild plants in the "Barthes" of Monbardon (Soorts Hossegor - Landes - France). Embellished with a few Hibiscus of the Marsh plants (Hibiscus moscheutos), they are overgrown with the common reed (Phragmite australis). A large perennial grass, its fields - known as reed beds - shelter nests and clutches of many of the birds of marshes and provide a strong purification of waste waters. Une vue du fouillis végétal des Barthes de Monbardon (Soorts Hossegor - Landes - France), agrémenté par quelques pieds d'Hibiscus des Marais (Hibiscus moscheutos) mais dominé par le roseau commun (Phragmite australis). Herbe très vigoureuse, le roseau peut atteindre quatre mètres de hauteur et forme des peuplements appelés roselières qui abritent les nids et couvées des nombreux oiseaux des marais et assurent aussi l'épuration des eaux.
