Geological features near the Ombretta pass at 2704 m and the Dal Bianco bivouac (little red dot in the picture). The black rocks (different from limestone rocks) can be traced back to the Ladinian volcanism (so-called Vulcano della Marmolada). In the background the Ombretta peaks. This was theater area of the Great War. The Ombretta pass is near The Marmolada south wall and the Ombretta peaks. The Dolomites.
