Unfortunately the aircraft sat outside for a number of years, exposed to weather and vandals. However in the mid-80's serious restoration began. Restoration is being carried out by the Solent Preservation Society Inc. under the auspices of MOTAT. The Society grew out of the Friends of the Flying Boat, a group of ex-TEAL employees which flowed on from the '20 Year' Club who were interested in maintaining contact with former co-workers.
