View up into the west transept, at the west end of the nave, Shows a variety of vaulting patterns. the simple quadripartite (divided into four) rib vault might have been the pattern intended for the rest of the nave, a plan abandoned when it was decided to make the nave roof lighter by building it of wood instead of stone.
