For the most part they are grown in water in fancy bowls, with just enough pebbles around them to keep them from top- pling over. They can also be grown in pots in soil, sand or moss; in fact, they usually do much better when grown in this way than in water. We annually import from China a large quantity of the finest quality bulbs, and if planted on arrival (about October loth) they will flower by Christ- mas, and a succession of flowers can be had by making several plantings. The white and yellow flowers are borne in clusters and are highly scented. 10 cts. each; 3 for 25 cts.; 90 cts. per doz.
