King Moshesh (Moshoeshoe) of Basutoland (1786-1870) in later years. He was also known as Mshweshwe, Moshweshwe, or Moshesh, and had the original tribal names of Lepoqo and Letlama. He became a strong leader and is best known for uniting the various small tribes to form the Sotho nation - (present-day Lesotho).
