Western Archaic style (7,500 - 1 ) geometric rock art at the Painted Rock Petroglyph Site near Gila Bend, Arizona, USA.

Located along the eastern edge of the Painted Rock Mountains, The Painted Rocks Petroglyph Site is at the crossroads of many historic trails, including that of Juan Bautista de Anza's expedition of 1775-1776, the Butterfield Overland Mail stagecoach route, as well as the route of the Mormon Battalion. AS a result the site contains inscriptions by these and other travelers along with the ancient petroglyphs.
