Man at work in rice paddies to the south of Kathmandu
Taken October 2004 looking out towards the Bagamati river in the south of the Kathmandu valley. You can just see a man standing in the fields contemplating the work to be done. With the high levels of rain favourable temperatures and lots of sun subsistence farmers are able to get several crops a year from each field. This vibrant rich green is characteristic of rice and the paddies are filled with incredible colour at this time of year much brighter than the second spring crop harvested before the monsoon
