Necropolis of Pian del Vescovo (Blera, Italy)

The Pian del Vescovo necropolis is one of the most important Etruscan rock necropolises. It is located about 2 km from Blera (Viterbo). It consists of Cube Tombs and Chamber Tombs with Dromos. The chronology of the tombs proceeds from the top (7th century ) downwards, so the oldest are located on the high plateau and on the edge of the cliff. Of particular interest is the so-called Tomb of the Sphinx, a name derived from the monstrous figure carved in it.
