This hatchling of an olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) should be buried and protected under 40 centimetre of warm sand, but a domestic dog dug it out at Ostional beach in Costa Rica. It takes nearly two months for a sea turtle egg to develop in a perfect little marine reptile. The egg tooth helps the little olive ridley sea turtle to open the soft but tenacious egg shell.
