The equestrian statue of Emmanuel Philibert, duke of Savoy, with the "twin churches" and lens flares in Piazza San Carlo square, Turin, Piedmont

In the center of Piazza San Carlo is the monument to Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia (1838), the work of Carlo Marochetti, which, while representing a warrior, symbolizes peace: the horse is in fact held by the reins and the rider stow his sword.
