Grimsby docks Grimsby Dock tower behind the yachts in the Humber Cruising Association marina old Fish Dock No1 Grimsby North Lincolnshire England UK

Grimsby’s developed as a fishing port in the late 19th century. From the 1850s until 1891, its fleet expanded from 1 vessel to 800. The arrival of the railway in 1848 had much to do with the town’s success, making it easier to transport goods to and from the port. Steeped in hundreds of years of maritime history and tradition, the HCA is situated in the old Fish Dock No1, originally completed in 1856.
