A large male Drakensberg Cycad, Encephalartos ghellinckil, with multiple cones, growing on a grass covered slope of the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa. The Drakensberg Cycad is a type of cycad endemic to South Africa, where it occurs in the grasslands of the Drakensberg Mountains and its foothills in KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape. The species consist of two varieties namely a larger highland variety which occur at altitudes above 1200m and are generally larger in size and a smaller lowland variety.
