Mr. Goodrich was also a publisher,and one of liberality and taste, who employed the best American authors,artists, and engravers of his day; and it seems appropriate that amongthe pleasant homes of Parley Vale (for the old writers estate passedinto other hands, and is now divided, though it still retains much of itssecluded beauty), should be that of William Ladd Taylor, one of our mostsuccessful illustrators.
