Original WW1 era postcard of a pair of Royal Engineers, pals, their cap badges denote that they are both Royal engineers. They both wear greatcoats, one has visible arm band, denoting he has be wounded. They look happy enough to be invalided out of the war even temporarily. The message on the front of the postcard reads "Sincerely Yours Albert". Info about the cap badge from the Imperial War Museum ....Engineers headdress badge, the badge is shaped around the emblem which comprises GRV monogram within crowned Garter surrounded by a laurel wreath, there is a scroll below embossed with the name of the regiment 'ROYAL ENGINEERS', The armband was worn when out of hospital and wearing a greatcoat, to identify the man as a wounded/sick inmate of a hospital.
