The Datooga, known as the Mang'ati in Swahili, are a pastoralist Nilotic people of north-central Tanzania south of Ngorongoro Crater. In 2000 the Datooga population was estimated to number 87,978.[1] They are the fastest-growing group in Tanzania. There are seven Datooga peoples: the Bajuta, the Gisamjanga (Kisamajeng, Gisamjang), the Barabayiiga (Barnabas, Barabayga, Barabaik, Barbaig), the Tsimajeega (Isimijeega), the Rootigaanga (Rotigenga, Rotigeenga), the Buraadiiga (Buradiga, Bureadiga) and the Bianjiida (Biyanjiida, Utatu)
