Eastern Leaf-footed Bug (Leptoglossus phyllopus, Hall County, Georgia. Eastern Leaf-footed Bug sitting on a goldenrod species. The Eastern Leaf-footed Bug (Leptoglossus phyllopus) is common throughout the Southern United States. They feed by puncturing plants with their mouth parts then sucking the juices from the plant or fruit. As adults they are very resistant to pesticides and control is more easily established by trapping methods.
