The Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge under construction for the extension of Nottingham's tram system to Chilwell and Clifton
The Queens Road, Nottingham Station, and Station Street tram bridges will collectively be known as ‘The Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge’ to reflect the bond between Nottingham and Karlsruhe in Germany, which were twinned in 1969. The naming of the Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge acknowledges the advice of the city’s counterparts in Karlsruhe, based on their experiences of building and operating their own extensive and award-winning tram network.
