Autotaxin and tetrahydrocannabinol, illustration

Autotaxin and tetrahydrocannabinol, molecular model. The image shows a rainbow-coloured ribbon representation of autotaxin and a spacefilled picture of tetrahydrocannabinol coloured yellow. Autotaxin (ATX; ENPP2) is an extracellular glycoprotein, which hydrolyses lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) into lysophosphatidic acid and forms the ATX-LPA signalling axis linked to numerous physiological and pathological processes. Tetrahydrocannabinol is able to modulate the catalytic activity of autotaxin.
