New Zealanders in the El Alamein Area The New Zealand troops in the El Alamein area made a most successful attack on the enemy, surprising and wiping out a leaguer of guns and motor transport. This image shows destroyed German 88mm anti-tank guns found in the leaguer by the New Zealanders. These guns were too heavy and so were blown up.
