Hallucinochrysa diogenesi prehistoric insect, illustration. This extinct insect dates from the Cretaceous, around 110 million years ago. It was discovered in a piece of amber in Rabago, Spain, in 2012. It is similar to modern lacewing larvae. This specimen provided evidence of the evolution of the use of camouflage in insects.
