Ferouk Khan, the Persian Ambassador to the Emperor of the French, 1857. 'Portrait of the Envoy now in Paris, sketched from a miniature painted by a Persian artist. His costume consists of a green tunic, crossed by a blue ribbon; a cashmere pelisse, lined with fur, and having on each side a diamond aigrette; his sword and belt are also studded with brilliants; and he wears suspended from his neck a portrait of the Shah of Persia, set in diamonds'.
