Houdon, Jean-Antoine (1741 Versailles - 1828 Paris) - "La Frileuse", Bronze. Signed "Houdon" on the right of the pedestal, marked "F. Barbedienne. Fondeur" on the side of the plinth, plus a patent stamp. A female nude, wrapped in a shawl, standing next to an urn. Mounted on a chiselled pedestal of red-veined marble. Total height 49 cm. Cast by F. Barbedienne & Achille Collas in Paris before 1892, one of the most prestigious workshops of the 19th century.
