Divers from the Navy and Replublic of Singapore pack “C-4” explosive charges as part of exercises conducted during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2002. Divers from the auxiliary salvage ship USS Salvor (ARS 52), Mobile Diving Salvage Unit One (MDSU-1) and the Republic of Singapore Navy teamed up for multiple diving, explosive ordinance, and salvage training exercises during CARAT 2002. CARAT consists of a series of bilateral training exercises involving the Navy, Marine Corps, and several Asian countries.
