Barasaurus is an extinct genus of a reptilian type, marine saurian, belonging to the Owenettidae family. It had a slender body with slim limbs and a relatively small head with large eye sockets. There is but one single species known, Barasaurus besairiei, found in late Permian to early Triassic strata in Madagascar. Photographed at the Natural History Museum, Vienna, Austria
