An initially confusing pair of traffic signals mounted on a post with 2 heads each with two aspects and a direction arrow.

A two headed traffic signal mounted on a post along the side of a road which is controlled by traffic lights at either end. These signals were used for cars in the middle entering the "controlled" section of road giving an option of turning either left or right according to which way the lights on either end were set. The movement of the vehicle in the middle of the section would activate the sensors (now turned out of position on the top of the signals) and stop traffic at both ends allowing the vehicle in the middle to exit on the tail end of the last clear signaled movement-confused-you should be !
