China/USA: David Lee "Tex" Hill (13 July 1915 - 11 October 2007), fighter pilot and Flying Tigers ace in World War II, c. 1943. Triple ace Brigadier General David Lee “Tex” Hill served as leader of the American Volunteer Group’s (Flying Tigers) 2nd Squadron and commanded the Army Air Corps’ 75th Fighter Squadron and the 23rd Fighter Group. He was also the Texas Air National Guard’s first commander.
