The runners in the IAAF/AL-Bank World Half Marathon Championships 2014 ran in the streets of sunny Copenhagen with start and goal at the Christiansborg Palace Square. The elite women and men were followed by nearly 30,000 recreational and sub-elite runners as seen here waiting for their start behind marker runners with balloons marking their expected time for the 21, The crowd waits from Christiansborg Palace Square down the Slotholmsgade, the tower of Knippelsbro Bridge over the harbour canal in Copenhagen can be seen in the far end. The Old Stock Exchange can be partly seen to the left.
