Off the west coast of Vancouver Island whalers reported seeing Baird's Beaked Whales throughout the whaling season from May through September, especially in July and August (Pike 1953; Pike and MacAskie 1969; Reeves et al. 1985). Most catches were made in August (14 of 24; 58%) [Table 2]..
