An early portrait of Charlie Buchan international footballer. --- Charles Murray Buchan ( 1891 – 1960) was also an English footballer, sporting journalist ( Daily News - later the renamed to News Chronicle) and commentator for the BBC. He played for Woolwich Arsenal, later Arsenal FC and for Sunderland where He remains the club's all-time record League goal scorer. During WWI he was awarded the Military Medal whilst serving with the infantry regiment, Sherwood Foresters
