Carreg Fawr house wall, Bardsey Island. Detail of lichen growing on cement render. Carreg Fawr farmhouse was one of the 'model farms' built on Bardsey Island in 1870s by the Third Lord Newborough during a major scheme to improve the accomodation of his tenants. The Welsh artist & writer Brenda Chamberlain lived here for a while.
