Andrew Davies born 20 September 1936 in Rhiwbina Cardiff. A screenwriter, he has produced adaptations of classics including Pride and Prejudice, Middlemarch and Vanity Fair. Having spent years working as a university lecturer he took to full-time writing in 1986. The winner of five Baftas, his work on screenplays ranges from the BBC's Bleak House to the Bridget Jones films. He is married to Diane and has two children now living in Kenilworth. Andrew Davies' adaptations include the saucy 18th-century novel Fanny Hill, starring Alison Steadman, Pride and Prejudice staring Colin Firth, House of Cards and Charles Dickens novel Little Dorrit.
