RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk, UK. 14th Jun, 2023. The RAF is retiring its Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport planes at the end of June and has organised a flypast of 3 aircraft to pass over various locations linked with its history. The C-130 transports entered RAF service in 1966 and various models have been a workhorse for RAF squadrons in actions around the world ever since, including peace-keeping and humanitarian operations – such as the evacuations from Sudan in May. The flypast of C-130J variants passed low over RAF Mildenhall in loose formation in heat haze
