Woman belonging to the Agow community ( Ethiopia)

Originally, the Agaw are farmers living in different parts of the Ethiopian highlands. This woman is hailing from the Sekota region. Because of the drought, she and her family have left their home to come to Mekele ( the capital of the Tigray state) for doing menial jobs or begging. Despite being orthodox christians, Agow who have migrated to Mekele are despised by the local population ( mainly orthodox christians too) because they are very poor, illiterate and dirty.
