Tombak Gilded Plaque probably 16th century This plaque is engraved with a symmetrical arabesque pattern against a ring-punched ground and terminates in two trefoils. It was probably one of a set adorning a large door, as can be seen in examples in the Suleymaniye Mosque and the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.
