Hampton Court Palace. Originally built for Cardinal Wolsey, favourite of Henry the VIII. Henry took it over. It was later due to be demolished and replaced with a palace to overshadow Versailles in France by William III., but this was only half completed and today there are two palaces side by side in the Richmond-upon-Thames site
