A rare luxury wheellock pistol, Brunswick or Munich, circa 1550 Lightly swamped two-stage barrel, ogtagonal then round with bore in 12 mm calibre, iron front sight and box rear sight. The barrel top entirely covered with deep floral and geometric etching against a blackened background. Above breech plug struck and etched mark of a master gunsmith, fleur-de-lys within escutcheon.
