Salin de Giraud Salin-de-Giraud at the Camargue’s south-east, set up to produce salt, salt mountains France

Salin-de-Giraud lies at the Camargue’s south-east Founded in 1856 when a business was set up to produce salt in the area, Salin-de-Giraud was declared an autonomous commune in 2008, since when it is France’s seventh commune in terms of its area. The main thing is to see the salt mountains and the salt pans, which continue as far as eye can see. How pink the water is and how big the salt mountains are depends on the time and season
