Portrait of William IV, Count of Furstenberg, 1491-1549. He wears a black leather hood (worn under the helmet) and cuirass and cuisses in steel edged with brass. Under the armour is a chainmail tunic and red velvet doublet. He has a two-handed sword, a sword and dagger. An unusual helmet lies on the floor. Dr. Jakob Heinrich von Hefner-Alteneck (1811-1903) was a German museum curator, archaeologist, art historian, illustrator and etcher.
