A part of the wetland forest of Strofylia, protected by the Ramsar Convention.

The wetland of Strofylia is one of the largest and most significant natural resources in Greece. It is situated in the northwestern part of the region of Peloponnese, quite near to the city of Patras. Mounds of sand along the coast chiselled by the waves and sea currents formed over time the lake Prokopou and lagoon Kotychi, creating together with the forest Strofylia an exceptional natural environment. It is a national park 22,000 acres protected by the Ramsar Convention and the Network Natura. This unique ecosystem of unrivaled beauty and ecological importance, brings the beauty of Greek nature: the pine forest, sand and blue sea.
