Orchid flowers (Epipogium aphyllum). The flowers of this orchid have a large lip (bell-shaped, pink and white structure). This is a specialised petal that attracts pollinators to the flowers. This orchid is found in most of Europe and eastwards into Turkey. It is a terrestrial orchid (an orchid that grows in the ground). There are more than 30,000 species of orchids worldwide, many of which are grown as ornamental flowers.
