A calf in the herd of the wild cattle of Chillingham Park, Northumberland. The only wild cattle in the world, numbering around 50. First isolated about 1200, and have been free of any human interference or breeding controls for many centuries. Originally part of the wild cattle which roamed the British Isles. These are the ancestors of the domestic cattle which are farmed today.
