Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-1882) was an English port, illustrator, painter, and translate. Rossetti is credited as a founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Among his works are The Daydream, Dante’s Dream, Astarte Syriaca, and Beata Beatrix. This painting, titled The Daydream, was painted in 1880 and first exhibited in the Royal Academy in 1883. The model for this painting was Mrs. William Morris, an English artists’ model.
