Begging and rough-sleeping hotspots across London were targeted in the early hours of this morning by the Metropolitan Police, immigration officers and associated agencies. Under the banner of Operation Encompass, the operation has in the past led to several arrests and anti-social behaviour notices being issued with a view to seeking ASBOs where appropriate. It comes at a time when the ONS recently stated that a "statistically significant" increase in net migration into the UK has taken place in the year up to March, from 175,000 to 243,000. Pictured
